I liked it when the rosters were together, and that was basiclly the WWF days, also that ment there was always more competition, and generally, more, bigger better storylines.

Old old. I don't have a whole lot to say about this one. My avitar (or whatever it's called) says it all. WWF was far better than WWE.

Old WWF simply because when the show was just 1 every single title had great competition and great matches, these days most of the titles are "mickey mouse" titles looked on as a jobbers championship. The tag divisions are a joke, the womens title is worse now with most of the good talent let go, the cruiserweights get used more as jobbers to get beat up when they need "bigger" names to make a statement, The US title has never really earned as much respect as it did in years past and the IC title hasnt got anywhere near the same sort of prestige it had back in the days of Ultimate Warrior, Rick Rude and of course HonkyTonk Man.

My point is with the 2 shows split it will always be just the main titles that get the publicity and prestige. The others just simply dont have enough competition to make them gain more respect.

They should maerge the shows again as I think the argument of "air time" for the stars is a poor 1, just because they can appear on both shows doesnt mean they have to... if they merged for instance and HHH was to fight Orton on RAW then that doesnt mean that these 2 have to appear on Smackdown the same week and fight again, it just means that the competition for the titles really hots up again. the IC belt would come back to life IMO, imagine the competition they would have for the belt. And WWE would have more options available for booking matches and then maybe we could get to see King Of The Ring burst back on the scene (I know, it's unlikely but I can always dream lol)

WOW! You should go into the record books Rey691_1, cause you just said that whole paragraph without a fullstop or comma and with quite a bit of Aol talk in the mix. Its frowned apon here at WC, just be a bit more carefull next time.

But, i really used to love the old WWE/WWF. It was way more entertaining and had better gimicks.

Ben!

WWF was better in the golden era of the 80's, no quesiton. Better at everything. And not just WWF either, the whole business was stringer back then and better packaged imo. All the guys had the most important skills in wrestling - selling and psychology.

Since kayfabe was broken, smarks now praise a guy for being stiff or for his workrate. It's a load of rubbish and I don't see where the fun is or the mark out moments.... we get them, but wrestling will never return to how good it was before they broke kayfabe.

Oh, and for the record Attitude era is to blame for the demise of wrestling.

I enjoyed the WWF times, overall they were better, and more interesting...

Also there was an overall roster there, which i thought was alot better than the WWE, which has a split roster...

WWF was heaps better and it has changed because of the name ënterainment". When it was a federation there was heaps better wrestling, no sh** names on the roster and there was more wrestling on the show, because it is now entertainment it has changed to more story lines and now they are changing everyones entrance song because they are now a entertainment company and they can relese a CD every so often.

Actually, the change in the show has nothing to do with the change in the name. The change in the show has everything to do with changes in the writing staff and writing staff just running out of ideas. And no, they didn't change the name because they wanted to or they liked Entertainment better than Federation. The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) was using the initials WWF before the World Wrestling Federation, and they started complaining and threatening to take it to court, and they would have won. So the World Wrestling Federation had no choice but to change its name.

I think everyone knows about the World Wrestling Federation losing the rights to the initials WWF to The World Wildlife Federation.

I see the new initials as the Big three feds combined since Vince bought the copyrights to them all.

World Wrestling Federation
World Championship Wrestling
Extreme Championship Wrestling

I know what you mean... For example, in other threads, there have been thoughts that SD has been made more juvnile, for the younger viewers, which personally, i believe is true.

I agree, the SD brand is very gimmicky, and it's very farfetched with it's storylines (Gothics, Carribeans, Cowboys, and Psychos running around)

The name change makes no difference. They called it sports entertainment whilst the company was still called the WWF.

As for the current product being gimmicky, almost cartoony - good! It should be, it needs to be, it has to be. Get the kids watcing since the Attitude era casuals have now departed us and then there is a new generation of wrestling fans to spend their pocket money.

I miss the WWF because that had Mankind, the "American Badass" Undertaker, and Kane with his mask.

Jesse

The "American Bad Ass" Undertaker was not only the worst Taker gimmic ever, but it was WWE as well.

i voted for the old wwf. it was just better all-around--more original and believable storylines and better character development. back then, it was easier to be a mark, because they(the stars, writers, and staff in general) all put so much effort into making it seem real. now it's like they just see it as another job. just my opinion anyways and i'm kinda expecting to get flamed for this.

i like the new wwe, only, i dont like their gimmicks. there are some matches in the wwe that are craps while some are worth the watch.... unlike in the wwf, every match is thrilling... Ü
