Proving Myself

The scene begins, as a camera pans around an arena, that is slowly filling with people. Eventually it stops, focusing on the ramp, where Petey Havana stands, dressed casually, and gazing beyond the camera. As the camera zooms in on him, he looks at it, focusing a deep, meanigful gaze towards us. Finally, he speaks, still looking distant.

Petey Havana: Another week, yet another chance to prove myself. To be honest, with you, proving myself is one of the reasons I love this business, and my god, do I need to prove that I have it in me to win a match. I need to prove it to all of you, the WcE fans. Last week saw my whole world change, because no longer was the WcE a single show, but instead a split show, featuring two new authority figures. I have yet to acquaint myself with my new boss, the WildSide General Manager, but from the locker-room talk I have heard, he is a person focused entirely on himself, so already, I can see that I won't be liking him. This week, however, I will be out to prove to myself I still have what it takes. Not to anyone but me, not DeMarco, not Timmons, not any other WcE star, but me, Petey Havana. My comments from my debut night will never be truer, than when I step into that squared cicrcle, this Wednesday.

The camera cuts to the titantron, where a video is being shown, of the interview that Petey Havana gave on his debut night in the WcE.

Petey Havana is backstage with Johnny Michaels, outside his locker-room at the Syndicate Hall. He is dressed in his usual red ring gear, and appears extremely happy. Petey asks Johnny for the microphone, who happily gives it to him, as Havana puts it to his mouth to speak.

Petey Havana: In case you didn't know, I am Petey Havana. Born and bred in Miami, Florida, and now here to make an impact on the WcE! I'm not going to be World Heavyweight Champion, I know that. That Title is reserved for guys twice my weight. I know, though that whatever match I get put in, I will do my best to entertain my fans. I've wrestled all over the world, picking up new moves. Moves never before seen in mainstream wrestling, right here in America. I plan to give you a taste of the exotic, a taste of the world's wrestling scene. And I can guarentee you will enjoy the ride.

Johnny Michaels: So, you're here to entertain? You have already ruled out a Title shot, surely you'll get one if you deserve it?

Petey Havana: That's what I've been hearing all my life. The only reason I wrestle is for the thrill I get when the fans cheer as I hit the Havana Splash, or any other of my amazing moves. I don't wrestle for Title belts. Damn it, I don't even wrestle for myself. I do it, purely for the fans. Johnny, I've ruled out a Title win, because I am not built like those other guys, I struggle to compete with men twice my size. Surely, Johnny, you can see that! I am in the WcE, and look forward to debuting, but I'll never be one of the WcE Elite or anything else, for I am a small guy! I can't compete, I'm here to entertain!

Johnny Michaels: Well, thank you, Petey for your time. We look forward to seeing you here in the WcE! Ladies and gentlemen, that was Petey Havana!

Petey Havana walks away, as Johnny Michaels looks for another person to interview.

We cut back to Petey, who composes himself, ready to speak again.

Petey Havana: You see, on my first night here, I told you that you would all enjoy the ride, and although it has been a bit of a rollercoaster so far, packed with ups and downs, I doubt anyone here can say they haven't enjoyed it. And another thing I can be quoted as saying, on my first night, is I struggle to compete with men twice my size, and that will never be more evident than when I take to the ring, to face Daniel Steele this week. The guy is a specimen, weighing in at 364lbs, just look at me, I'm 160lbs, he is more than twice my weight. But, this week, I will go out there, with a new-found hope, a desire to compete. A desire to help myself, and in turn help you, by providing quality entertainment. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, and that is I can't compete, I'm here to entertain. And this Wednesday, Daniel Steele will hopefully enjoy the ride I take him on, because we all know it has to end. And it will, when I fly off the top rope, to hit the Havana Splash!

Petey Havana stated the last line, rather emphatically, and plays to the growing crowd for a moment or two, before moving away, and stepping back into the baskstage area, via the ramp.
