I don't like the wording, and the bg is too light. I also don't like both fonts, it gets a 3/10.

Well believe it or not Mike this is your best one yet.. no jokeing. but here's whats wrong with it to help you out.

1. good size coming from you.

Use a large face cut to fade into the bg first, then add your action shot or secondary cut faded over that but on the opposite side. fade it but not as much as the face cut so it stands out more. Then add you scans lines but do this

PhotoShop: Edit - Fill - Pattern - Scanlines - Opacity - 35% - 40%.

this should get the desired lightness and not whitewash your light bg.

and before you use this kind of light bg do this to make it a little darker if you plan to use scanlines boxes etc.

PS: Image - Adjustment - Color/Brightness - Brightness - keep 0%/ Contrast - 15% to 30% play with it till you have what you like?

Then add your doninate cut (top layer cut)

add highlighting if you wish to have it stand out more. or if the bg is real light highlight useing a darker color.

Choose a place on the banner where your name/font will go. If your useing a font like the one you used choose someplace light so the cut out font shows through.

placeing the name half on and half off the dark christian cut with a large black borer take away from the entire banner. it's too dark to read and the cutout font dont highlight his name.
