Do you think wrestling is fake?

Okay...the actual wrestling is real. But the interviews, feuds, match winners, promos are all staged. Please refrain from talking in all caps too.

I do go to trainin lessons and taking bumps are very sore!!!!!!! but everybody should be old enough to cope with the fact that Wrestling is like a soap opera but only with more action

Actually, Japan wrestling is VERY much real moreso than American and British and Mexican *I'm guessing*. The majorty of japan workers work stiff. Kicks and punches and chops all connect.
But, WWE has a lot of staged matches. Most moves are determined before the match and are thus staged, but some are done on the spot, like Flair vs Steamboat on various occasions, they would make up nearly all of the match as they went along. Then again Rumble 2001 had Jeff kick Matt but Matt sold it 2 secs after it would have connected. So all in all, matches are staged, matches are real, but everyone taking bumps gets hurt.
Conclusion: Wrestling is real, stroylines are not.

What they do is they plan out the end of the match but most of the rest they make up as they go along

WWE is a soap opera with actual wrestling in it. TNAW and indies and Jap wrestling, however, is not.

I agree with what you are saying about WWE only bein like a soap opera and others being based more on actual wrestling than storylines but come on people, i wrestle! just face it Wrestling is not like boxing sure wrestlers make contact with there punches and the moves are sore but you learn how to fall to make it less pain full. Put it this way in a real fight would you be able to suplex a guy or power bomb him? the answer in no not unless he was half your weight anyway

I say that half of it is fake

LOL.. funny you say that.. cause I powerbombed some jerk onto the hood of his car..
he keyed my van (scraped down the side with a key and F'd up my paint job). I saw him do it and walked up to him he tried to take a swing, which i saw coming a mile away and thought *what the hell... try it?!*
i ducked the swing and kicked him in the nads, he doubled over and i put him in posistion and picked him up and threw him on the hood of the can next to us. He was about 150 to 165lbs and about 5'8" (i'm 5'9")
He didn't really get hurt fromthe ompact cause it really wasn't that far to hit. he seemed more shocked than anything else. There was about 6 teenagers standing near by and they were freaking...LOL
he got up and flipped me off and left in his car. 2 of the kids asked me if i was a local wrestler and i told them no.. just a fan that likes to think i'm a wrestler..lol
and btw that was the last fight (if you can call it that) i was in. back in 2001.

LMAO, I remember you saying that.
Also, I have actually suplexed a guy around my own size cause he was pretty much asking for it. Punk smashed my window.
But to answer the question overall... Wrestling IS real, wrestling to be technical is amateur wrestling thatis actual wrestling. Punches and Kicks arent allowed in olympic wrestling.

Honestly, when I read the subject of this board I entered it thinking everyone was going to make fun of the host for being so dumb and then I read through and a great deal of people actually say wrestling is real? Are you kidding me? Sure, chops hurt, and bumps make you sore and every once in awhile people connect with a move that may sting but come on, wrestling is fake. The stories are fake, the fueds are fake, the matches are predetermined and sometimes completely scripted. Wrestlers take great risks to entertain the fans and certainly put there bodies on the line almost every night. The performers don't get enough credit for the sacrifices they make, except from wrestling fans. Wrestling is a very serious thing and should not be taken as fake fighting or anything of the sort because severe injury can occur. With all that said, wrestling is fake. Especially all the wrestling that you people like such as NWA TNA and ROH (spotfests), and lucha libre styles of wrestling because everything is scripted. The idea that people are saying the wrestling is real and the stories are fake is an insult to wrestling fans. That is why people who are not wrestling fans mock wrestling fans. I doubt no one here is that stupid to say wrestling is real. It is predetermined entertainment that demands that the performer be very athletic, skilled, and experienced so that serious injury doesn't occur. There is impact, sometimes a great deal of impact and people get bent out of shape by the word FAKE, but it is very much not real, and most definately predetermined. I have all the respect in the world for wrestling and wrestlers, I know how hard it is to be a wrestler and no one loves wrestling more than I do; however, I am smart enough to be totally entertained and fall in love with wrestling knowing it is not real, predetermined and not an actual competition. I will argue that wrestlers are athletes of the greatest calibur, wrestlers are unbeleivably skilled performers and wrestling is a great form on entertainment. I cannot argue that wrestling is not real. I hope I didn't break any bubbles or ruin anyones perspective on the wrestling industry.

The guy above me just sucked up.
Gamblor, your correct in what you say, but the way I meant things is them actually wrestling is real, not the entire thing that is encorporating wrestling. Think about UFC and Jap wrestling (My Main example), They really fight, Rikson Gracie has never recieved a punch or been beaten in 20 years and he gouged someones eye out in a match, THAT is real so my examples where correct and what you say is also correct.

But UFC and Pride and those Mix Martial Arts competitions are real. You can't really compare them to pro wrestling. The two are completely different. Oh well, I said my peace earlier.

It depends on the worker really. As Hardcore Holly delivers hard shots. The chair shots seem to be getting harder, which just makes good TV, which is what the WWE wants.

Wrestling fake? Get out of here, whoever told you that needs their head examining.
Do you even know what the E in WWE stands for? Entertainment that’s what the WWE is wrestling based entertainment, and if you hate wrestling because it’s fake you are stupid because that’s like hating Spiderman because Toby Mcguire can’t actually climb walls.
