Stown:
I need four long stem black roses. All the same size as well.
Worker:
Black? You don't want red?
Stown:
Black...black for a reason.
Stown looks down at the glass counter...
Stown's Reflection:
What the hell are we going here?
Stown:
I think you know...you better know.
Stown's Reflection:
I wouldn't ask if I didn't!
Stown:
Look, I don't the kid working to hear our conversation...we'll continue this later.
Worker:
Did you say anything...need anything else?
Stown:
Oh no, I was speaking on my Bluetooth. Ignore me...
Worker:
Ok, so it's $9.34.
Stown gives the kid a 10 and tells him to keep the change.
He exits the store and sees a text message on his phone from WCE Commissioner's Office

Hey Dan, you are in the main event this week against Eddie Freeze in a normal one on one bout. Paul is still MIA hence the text. Once he comes back, things will return back to normal. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Stown leaves his phone open and sees himself on the screen of the phone
Stown's Reflection:
What a great day! We got our rematch! We should go to the arena to get everything in order.
Stown:
You seriously forgot, didn't you?
Stown's Reflection:
Again, I have no clue what you are talking about?
Stown:
I can't believe you forgot. We're going back home...
Once Stown gets home, he heads straight into his garage and stands in front of a large object under black tarps.
Stown:
So you forgot...I wish I could forget as easily as you. 1,461 days ago...4 years ago today.
Stown takes the trop off. A Harley Davidson motorcycle is now exposed. It's an older model but you can tell it hasn't been used much.
FLASHBACK
I remember it as if it were yesterday. A day doesn't go by without these thoughts popping into my head. I am haunted by the early hours of this damned day. Hell, I remember the exact day and time, 11/11/02 at 1:14 AM.
I was driving back home from a concert on my bike. I didn't use my bike on the freeways much. I just got my motorcycle license a couple weeks before...I was still scared to ride the freeways especially at nite but my car was in the shop so I had too.
So, at the 5-level junction, where 4 different freeways meet at the same spot, the lanes get a bit confusing. I was in the second lane, I wasn't driving fast...I was scared sh**less. I look over to my left as the lanes are getting tricky, an 18-wheeler comes closer and closer to me. At first, I thought it was just merge to the lane next to me but it lost track of the lanes. I had to get into the first lane without a seconds notice. If I didn't, I would have been killed instantly. I moved to the first lane...
I moved to the first lane...sigh
...I moved to the first lane as a sedan merged onto the freeway. The sedan was trapped, I cut him off and the 18-wheeler was to his left. The driver tried to hit his breaks but it was too late so he decided to take his only other option, his right hand side...a brick wall. The sedan crashed into the wall around 60 miles per hour. He missed the 18-wheeler by a couple of feet. I stopped my bike and started running towards the sedan. I saw the man, his wife and two kids alive and scared. As I was running, I saw the gasoline pouring out of the car and I could even smell it. I was just 50 feet away when I made eye contact with the driver. As he opened his front door...the sedan blow up. The car flow into the air as I fell to the ground due to explosions force. That's all I remember, the doctors said I was lucky to be alive. To be that close to an explosion without any real damage was a miracle.
Stown's Reflection:
I guess when you got knocked out, most of my memory of this event vanished. You know it wasn't your fault...it was no ones fault. It was a freak accident.
Stown:
...Yea, I know. I just wish it was me instead of them. The dad worked for the FBI, the mother was a 2nd grade teacher, and their 6 year old girl twins just started First Grade. Now look at me, a 22 year-old professional wrestler with a ton of mental problems. Yea, that sounds fair.
Stown's Reflection:
Look, its been four years...you gotta forget about this.
Stown:
You never ever tell me that again! Forget the lives of four incident people!? This year, I ride the Harley back to the spot where this all happen.
Stown's Reflection:
Damn it! We need to focus on our match! This our big chance! If we win, we are in the fast track for a World Title shot!
Stown:
Shut the hell up. I'm doing this no matter what...even if I end up killing myself doing so.
Stown's Reflection:
What do you mean?
Stown:
I haven't used the bike since that day four years ago...1,461 days ago.
Stown's Reflection:
...This sounds like suicide, you know that rite?
Stown gets on the bike and starts it. Black smoke bellows out of the exhaust pipe, four years of grim echo out. Stown jets off on the bike, almost falling off a couple times. By the time he gets on the freeway, he gets the hang of it again. An hour drive later, he pulls over to the spot. He walks to the exact spot and touches the wall.
Stown:
This is it. You can still see the smoke stains on the wall. These four black roses are the four that died here four years ago today. For Paul, Jenny, June, and Lucy.
Stown drops the four roses on the ground and watches them fly away from the cars flying back on the freeway. He looks down and sees water droplets on the ground. He looks up, not a cloud in the sky. He touches his eyes...his fingers are wet.
Stown:
I forgot how it feels to cry, its been so long.
Stown's Reflection:
Let's get going.
Stown:
Yea.
Stown's Reflection:
You know, your not just some professional wrestler. You are the longest reigning singles champion today and when we beat the world champ Eddie Freeze this week, you should become the new Number One Contender for the World Championship! Just two wins away from becoming the best in the business!
Stown:
Yea, you're rite. The day reminds of how short life can be...
Eddie Freeze, a new man is going to be the best in the world and that man is me! Dan Fu**king Stown, THE ICON OF ICONS!
Stown gets back on his bike and drives away from the spot with tears still dripping from his eyes and a smile on his face. [/center:658152eb6c]
