View Full Version : Backlash Predictions
Seeing as Backlash has coverage here at WC free of charge from Ms HBK herself...
I thought I'd ask you all of your opinion, as to what is going to happen at Backlash this month?!
What matches do you think will happen, and what will happen at these matches...
Lets see if we can prove how completely predictable the WWE is at the moment!

Of course, we will probably see a MVP vs. Matt Hardy match, though I truly wish that fued would end already.
I think we will see Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix for the Womens Championship, too.
Other than that, the WWE is keeping me guessing.
Well, I think we already have Edge vs Taker at Backlash haven't we?
Wonder what they're going to do with the WWE title...
For JBL to have a title shot would be a partial crime, although he is an all out heel...

Theres also Chavo-Kane, there will have to be a tag belt match which im thinking Morrison and Miz - Jesse and Festus again.
MVP-Matt Hardy
Taker-Edge
Batista-HBK (might not do it so soon but i would not be surprised to see it)

Randy Orton vs Triple H vs John Cena vs JBL:
This is defenenly the hardest match to decide who will win. I can't see Orton holding the WWE Championship for much longer. Its either this PPV or next PPV where he will lose his championship. This would probably be the more ideal way to lose the championship. His odds to win is 1/4, and his opponents are all big main-eventers. As sad as it seems, I can't really see Triple H winning the championship anytime soon. In my opinion its a little early to have Triple H as champion again. Maybe later this year Triple H will be champion but not as soon as now. This goes the same for Cena, though he did the title 'stripped from him' I just think its too soon after his return for him to be the champion. Though out of Triple H and Cena I do think Cena is more likely to win the title. This is the perfect time for JBL to make his move and become champion. His return was very weak. The feud with Y2J wasnt all that great, but it did make JBL look very dominant. JBL needs to be a champion, weather its WWE, Intercontinental or even Tag Team for that matter to regain that dominance and intemidation he used to have. So overall my pick is JBL to win!
The Undertaker vs Edge:
This one is very simple. I cant see Edge losing the title and winning it after a months time. It is quite obvious that Taker wont be wrestling for much longer, maybe a year or maybe 2 but he needs to end his career with a long title reign. Keep in mind WrestleMania 25 is in Houston, Texas the hometown of Undertaker. If he can hold the title from now to then and if WWE decide to end his career there, its a perfect send off. So Taker to win this match!
Kane vs Chavo Guerrero:
As much as Chavo's hard work with WWE/ECW has impressed me over the years I just still dont think his in the league of a major champion and to be in the league of Kane. Him winning the ECW Championship really suprised me considering names like Big Daddy V, Mark Henry, Kane (at the time) and even Great Khali all could of been contenders for the title. Its quite simple with this one. Chavo will work on Kanes legs during the match to wear down the big man, but Kane is just to dominant. So Kane to win!
MVP vs Matt Hardy:
Anyone else bored of MVP being the US Champion?
His held the title for 329 days and counting and hasnt really been challenged for it. Yes, Rey and Batista have had matches to win the title but we all knew MVP would walk out with the championship. Hardy just returned all reved up and gave Orton a good run in the ring. Hardy's character compared to his brother isnt that great so him having this feud with MVP is doing a world good for him. Him winning the US Championship would be great for his character and for the WWE. So Hardy to win!
Shawn Michaels vs Batista:
Well this is probably the best feud in WWE at the moment. Batista needed to have a major feud with a big name, after the Umaga feud. And lets be honest from here what could of HBK done? He could of had a feud with JBL if he wasnt going for the WWE Title. He could of had a feud with Umaga, which would of been boring. Thats all I could think of. This feud of what I see is 'I knew Flair better than you did' is childish but really is working at the moment. Lets be honest with HBK, he hasnt really won a big match before the Flair fight and still hasnt reallly proven to us that he is still the Show Stopper. And for Batista the last big match he won was against Umaga at Backlash or Edge on SmackDown, once. So who will win is the question? On paper you would say Batista but knowing that HBK needs another character boost its really tough. Im going to say HBK though, because if he lost to Batista the fans would be filthy!
Big Show vs The Great Khali:
The easiest to decide. Big Show's return was alright. He beat a couple of jobbers and proved he is the big strong man he used to be by man handling Y2J. Though Great Khali hasnt won a big match since he won the World Heavy Weight Championship, its just too obvious that The Big Show will win. It wont be a technically wrestling match just a punch for punch sort of match. So Big Show for me!

Im going to go with Orton keeping the belt, i have never seen a World Title lost in a fatal four way, i think Orton is the biggest underdog in the match and will walk out as champ, it wouldnt be too bad as the relief when someone else wins it will be greater providing that!! someone isnt Cena.
I think Big show will win
Hardy will probably win but it could be as a result of a DQ or something
HBK to beat Batista but it could really go either way
Taker easily to win
Kane to win easily
Simpleton.

In my opinion, it'll be Orton, Undertaker, Kane, Hardy, Batista and Big Show. I could be wrong though. The WWE has been pretty unpredictable before, and I wouldn't be surprised if JBL walked out as the champion leading to a three-way feud between RKO, HHH and Cena to decide on the #1 contender.

-Undertaker vs. Edge
Can't see this one ending cleanly. I'll give it to Edge due to some kind of shmoz.
-Randy Orton vs. JBL vs. John Cena vs. Triple H
I see Orton hanging onto the belt. HHH is the only other one with a shot here, and I'd imagine they're planning the title switch for a bigger PPV.
-Kane vs. Chavo Guerrero
This match was only made because the last one was an embarrassment. Kane beats Chavo in a little longer match than last time.
-MVP vs. Matt Hardy
If the KOTR was after Backlash, I'd love to see MVP drop the title and win KOTR. MVP takes this matchup.
-Batista vs. Shawn Michaels
HBK via superkick.
-Big Show vs. The Great Khali
I'll be in the bathroom for this one. Big Show uses an impressive power move on Khali for the victory about 3 minutes in.

-Taker vs Edge
I dont think the Edge Era is over.
-Orton-HHH-Cena-JBL
I fear that JBL might have something in the works with possible help from Vinny Mac.
If that is the case,Finlay and Horney may foil his plot.If shades of green shine I expect HHH to take the gold.
-Kane vs Chavo
Kane beats him even faster this time lol.
MVP vs Hardy
Matt wins.I hope.
-Batista vs HBK
Batista's rage will make him unbeatable.
-SHOW VS KHALI
