The state of ECW

Alright let me just get this off my chest...

Im really worried for WWE about the state where ECW is going. Lets start off with the commentary team. Yes, Mike Adamle has copped a lot of (you know what) by wrestling sites and WWE fans. But lets be honest here, whoever adds 'the' in front of everything and everyone and who cant even name simple moves should be a proffesional wrestling commentator. If they want him to grow as a commentator send him down to OVW or FCW. Then we have Tazz, who looks like the best commentator ever with Mike next to him. Tazz is actually quite good for ECW. He is an ex-hardcore champion which must mean something to the proclaimed 'Land of the Extreme' and he is also an ex-SmackDown commentator. One idea would be to send Tazz back to SmackDown and get The Coach to ECW. The Coach sucks at SmackDown and shouldn't even be a doing a 'special comments' role.

Alright, now onto the superstars. Their main eventers are: Kane, Chavo, CM Punk and the occasional apperance from Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. With Morrison and Miz as tag-team champions, the repeat of main eventers going for the belt will destroy ECW. They are building up wrestlers such as Kofi Kingston, Shelton Benjamin and Mike Knox. Kofi Kingston is very promising. His athletic and the fans love him. Shelton Benjamin is the one who needs to get a title shot sooner or later while Mike Knox is just a plain old 'tough guy'. I wont talk about ECW's divas because we all know how bad they are.

So my questions are:
Are you worried about ECW?
What can be done to help this 'second-rate' show?

I can honestly say that since the WWE got the ECW brand i have never watched an episode, i just look on WWE.com for the results because i just don't see any depth to the show.
Vince should seperate ECW from the WWE totally and just leave raw and smackdown alone and maybe bring a few youngsters through ECW.
Don't include ECW in the WWE PPVs and let them have there own PPVs make them have there own tag belts and maybe a mid-card belt maybe the TV Title should return, lets give the brand its depth and own storylines no cameo appearances from anyone in WWE. Just start with a clean slate and maybe keep the likes of CM Punk and Chavo and even maybe Kane, then get some of the guys from FCW and push them into the limelight but on ECW it could be a televised breeding ground and then the fans get to see these future stars and see what the future could be.

Firstly I think that Tazz's accolades of former ECW World Champion, and I believe he was ECW Tag Team Champion with Sabu, matter more than a hardcore title, but thats just being picky. On top of this, ECW was never going to succeed and anyone who thought it would was placing too much hope on Vince McMahon to allow it to succeed. I enjoyed the first series of shows with The ZOMBIE~! Kurt Angle beating people up and Van Dam defending the title quite often. Then we had the drugs scandal and so Big Show was designated driver of the ECW brand for a while and it was just a WWE twist on ECW with no real ECW stars at the top of the card. However, I didn't expect anything different but I did hope that down the line they would have pushed enough newer talent that the WWE talent would be extra and not the meat and bones.

Then down the line it was all shaping up decently to have Chris Benoit as the new ECW champion and we would get lots of good matches before Punk or whoever would dethrone him and get a lot of credibility fom it; in the same way MVP did. By the way, I ignore alll the time with Blaster Lashley doing his ECW champion thing because it was mostly just to be an extra 'throw' for the Billionaires match at Mania 23. Then we got the whole Benoit scandal and ECW hasn't really recovered since and with the only guys getting pushes their being WWE guys, it makes ECW just another WWE brand and it will never go anywhere.

So no, I'm not worried because I got used to the idea very quickly that this would never be the same ECW as the old days, never ever. It also isn't going to get a big push unless all McMahons die instantly alongside Triple H and the company goes to some randomer who doesn't hate ECW or something. And thats got a 0% chance of occuring.

I mean come on they are not even using the Cruser weight title WTF. COME ON WWE. Well I hate to say it i'm getting bored with the WWE. I love it and yet its the same old shit. BackLash looks good buts its the same old thing. We all know Chavo will lose, Edge has to lose to the Undertaker its the big mans time again. He gets his shot again. I only hope he doesn't get hurt again. Ask for the fatal 4 way... whos to say Orton wont win.. its the age of Orton HELLO!!!. I'm not going to get BackLash lol.. I want to but I already know what will happen. Thats why i'm giving my money to TNA. TNA is what ECW used to be only a little different. Its full of the guys who got tired of the King Vince. ECW is now extreme crappy wrestling.....

Get rid of ECW. Get rid of these 2 tag team titles and 2 World Titles. The more wrestlers going for 1 championship the better in my opinion. Think about having Undertaker, HHH, Edge, CM Punk, Big Show all going for the World Heavy Weight or WWE Title. That would do great for ratings and more wrestlers means more feuds. Better rivalrys, better storylines. And I finally get to watch TNA now, thanks to Fox 8. I must say it is better than WWE at the moment!

As for your Backlash predictions. Yes Kane and Taker will win. But the Orton one is a real toughy. Its time for a returning star to do something (Cena or JBL) and its also time for The Game to do something. But then again Orton has only held it for 200 days or something. He can hold it for another 100 days before people really start complaining!

the thing with ECW is even though its bad in our eyes, its one of the best shows on Sci Fi. It gives the lesser known guys a shot to get on TV and hone their skills. I like it...wish it was 2 hrs.

There are a ALOT of reason why ECW sucks.

When it started, they brought in Angle and Big Show to make it look legit. Angle didnt want to go to ECW and with this health issues, he left the WWE shortly after. Big Show left months later for R and R for a year and some months.

Then, as they are pushing Bobby Lashley afer the Big Show, he gets a long ass injury and wants his release. Which I enjoyed since Lashley sucks but he was their biggest star on ECW.

While Lashley is on the shelf, they bring in Benoit. And well, you know. Benoit was suppose to make the ECW legit again after Lashley was forced to drop the ECW title.

The title was put on Johnny Nitro at the time which was a completely unexpected move.

Nitro became Morrison and Morrison became a good heel but you know you are in trouble when your CHAMPION gets his gimmick going while BEING champion.

They flirted a CM Punk title reign and they pulled the trigger 2 weeks too late as Morrison got popped for roids so the title change was expected.

Punks title reign was awful. Matches with Big Daddy V and Burke were awful. His matches with Morrison were good and I think Miz gets too much shit. He has really improved.

Then they give Chavo a 2 month reign just cause. Then they have Chavo v CM Punk 8 times in a 2 month span for no good reason.

WM 24, ECW champion gets pinned in 8 seconds.

Now you have Kane.

Kane needs to have a long long long long long long reign to make the title legit again. I mean til at least November.

After hes done with Chavo, put Shelton in there with him for some good matches. Give Morrison a shot or two. Add Burke and Miz once in a while. Then they will have to put Big Daddy V in a title match once he drops his weight because gets off on big men wrestling slow sloppy matches.

Theres your ECW history.

The WWE has tried several times to make ECW look legit but with the big stars leaving in different ways. Plus the problems they had the Sci-Fi months ago hence the SD/ECW partnership...they dont have any reason to try again.

Kane has always been a very dependable worker and everyone agrees he deserves this title reign.

Do you not think that with a bit more depth and a good title scene that people would be more inclined to want to watch an ECW PPV, i know it failed when they had the elimination chamber PPV which in agreement with you was awful. But! i feel if they had there own tag belts and maybe a TV title there would be more anticipation for the PPV, i dont mean have a PPV every month either maybe 4 a year and have a really good set of storylines to build up for them. I mean its not like the Raw/Smackdown PPVs are setting any great standards so why not give ECW there own. But i stress that this would only be done with a solid roster, something they are not even close to now.

I can't believe how terrible the new ecw is! ( or as i call it the wwecw) if there not gonna have ecery match be under ecw ru;es at least bring back the hardcore title or something. it's turned into the raw/smackdown reject show!

I don't watch ECW, but i think that it should really go off the air. Tazz and the other one really suck.

How can you make a judgment without watching the show, commentary was great til they dropped Styles. Altho, Adamle is getting a little better. Not as nervous as he was on the first show, but I prefer Styles.

ECW could go back to the way it was if WWE played the cards right. Like maybe make ECW shows PPV only like how TNA did it back in the day lol. That way you can see them kill each other in insane matches like it once was. Vince will not do that.. hes making ECW into what it didn't want to become.
